How much can I put in my ISA and pension 2025?

Hi everyone,

I've recently started getting more serious about investing and saving for the future, but I'm a bit confused about how much I can actually put into my ISA and pension for the upcoming tax year.

I know the ISA limit is £20k, but does this reset in April 2025? Also, I've heard something about pension limits changing but I'm not sure what the new rules are.

I'm 29 and earning £45k if that makes any difference. Currently only putting about £200 a month into my workplace pension but thinking I should probably do more. Would really appreciate if someone could explain the basics of what I'm allowed to contribute to each! Thank you.

Yes, you're right about the ISA limit! The ISA allowance for the current tax year (2025/26) is £20,000 and it does reset each April - so you get a fresh £20k allowance every 6th April.
For pensions, the good news is the annual allowance is £60,000 for 2025/26 - this covers all contributions (yours, your employer's, and tax relief combined). On your £45k salary, you could theoretically contribute up to your full earnings if you wanted to max out tax relief, but practically speaking you're nowhere near hitting the £60k limit.
